There were so many files to choose from, it was difficult to distinguish movie files from music files. EZMP3's allows you to search for multiple files & formats simultaneously, which may have complicated my search. EZMP3's has also gone by My-Free-Tracks.

File Selection: EZMP3's claims to have "over 12 million songs", including the "largest file trading network on the planet." EZMP3's not only passed the minimum FreeMusicReview of 250 files, we searched for over 1,000 different files and found multiple offerings for each search. I was even able to find the same song performed by multiple artists by doing a more generic search by title only.

FreeMusicReview minimum tests require searches in the basic genres of rock, hip hop, country, gospel, classical, pop, jazz and I found plenty of files in all of these genres, but the music I listen to and wanted to research was by "pop" artists like those shown on the home page of EZMP3's including: Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Moriah Carey.

Wow! I found files for all of the artists I like to listen to.

Download Speed: Downloading files on EZMP3's easily met the FreeMusicReviews minimum acceptable standard (75% of downloads should take 2 minutes or less on a DSL connection), and most downloads were extremely fast (taking less than 30 seconds to complete). When I performed downloads on multiple files, at the same time, over 50% still finished in under 2 minutes.

Expect significant slowing if you are using dialup connectivity (56k modem).

Sound Quality: After downloading over 250 songs, I have concluded that EZMP3's has outstanding sound quality. I burned several cds and downloaded mp3 files to a generic MP3 player and to an iPod. The sound was awesome every time.

I was so impressed with the clarity & overall sound quality of the music that I give it my highest score ever, an "A".

Customer Service: I was initially concerned that I couldn't contact Customer Service by telephone, after 3 attempts I was able to speak to a representative in person. I was told that customer service is responsible for both the members area and for refunds. So don't give up even though it may take a few tries to get a live person during peak service hours, holidays, or school vacations.

The representative I talked to was very helpful and provided answers to my questions about the service. I thought that the members area of the website was very complete and accurate. When I started exploring all of the information it contained, I realized that I wouldn't need to call customer support very often because the members area would answer 95% of my questions and it is available any time once I join. I found interactive tutorials, videos, and step-by-step instructions for everything from downloading, to burning to copying your favorite music and movie CDs/DVD's.

Ease of Use: EZMP3's is a simple straight forward website that "hits its stride" once you are a member and access the members only areas. The site, especialy the members areas, help explain all aspects of downloading and make downloading very easy. The client is very user friendly, and allows multiple searches at the same time.

I was shocked to see that I could also search for video and images. My searches in the video area gave me access to a number of great movies.
